Cities of Glass
10 Artists. 10 Cities. 10 Years.
Cities of Glass is an independent curatorial initiative that brings commissioned projects by artists into an interconnected dialogue about the complexities of lived experiences in global cities.
Each year, California-based curator Meg Shiffler collaborates with one artist in a non-institutional, yearlong process shaped by research and dialogue across cultures, geographies, and political realities.
Artists develop new works that emerge from intimate knowledge of place while engaging questions of identity, language, meaning, fragility, and transformation.
Each project premieres locally within the labyrinth of the city, then meets the world online as part of the Cities of Glass network and archive.
